If you are applying for a tier 1 and 2 visas to the UK, then you need to take the IELTS academic or general training test. IELTS general or academic training for UKVI is designed to meet administrative criteria specified by the UK Home Office. It shows that you have taken the IELTS test at an IELTS UK visa session.

  • IELTS Life Skills

If you are applying for a ‘family of settled person’ visa or an ‘extension of a family of a settled person’ or for indefinite leave to remain or citizenship,’ then you need to take the IELTS life skills test. It is a new test that is approved by UKVI as a Secure English Language Test.
